
Frank Beattie captained Killie when they won the Scottish First Division in 1964-65, the club's only top tier league title. The midfielder made 422 league appearances for the club, scoring 34 goals between 1953 to 1972. Beattie passed away in November 2009 at the age of 76.

Ray Montgomerie captained Kilmarnock when they won the Scottish Cup final in May 1997, beating Falkirk 1-0 at Ibrox.

Current club captain Kyle Vassell became Killie skipper ahead of the 2023/24 season. Vassell arrived at Rugby Park in January 2023 after leaving San Diego Loyal.
