Former Kilmarnock forward Kris Boyd turns 43 today.
Born in Irvine in 1983, Boyd made his first team debut for Killie in 2001. He scored 67 goals in 168 games from 2001 to 2006, before moving to Rangers for a fee of around £500,000.
Boyd returned to Rugby Park during the 2012-13 season, scoring 3 times in 9 matches. In 2013-14 he scored 22 goals in 37 appearances before moving back to Rangers for the 2014-15 campaign, who at the time were playing in the Scottish Championship and looking to return to the top flight.
His second spell at Ibrox was disappointing though and he returned to Killie for a third stint the following season.
Boyd netted 44 goals in 129 games between 2015 to 2019 and retired from professional football at the end of the 2018-19 season, with Killie finishing in third place in the Scottish Premiership under Steve Clarke.
Boyd was inducted into the Kilmarnock Football Club Hall of Fame in May 2022 alongside Alan McCulloch and Kenny Shiels.
